A Turkish-flagged fishing boat came under attack and later sank in the Black Sea on Friday, leaving one fisherman dead and four others injured, the Turkish Coast Guard said.

In a statement, it said the boat sustained damage in the incident and subsequently sank.

A nearby fishing boat responded to the situation and rescued five injured fishermen from the vessel. One of them, who had been seriously wounded, later died from his injuries.

The Turkish Coast Guard did not disclose the cause of the attack, and no individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
