Bangladesh's earnings from total goods exports in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, which ends this month, fell by 2.55 percent year-on-year to nearly 44 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the latest official statistics of Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau, the country fetched 43.799 billion dollars from exports in the July-May period of the 2025-26 fiscal year, compared with 44.946 billion dollars a year earlier.
The country shipped goods worth 4.40 billion dollars in May, the 11th month of the current fiscal year (July 2025-June 2026), which was 7.07 percent lower than the same month a year ago.
Of the total, Bangladesh earned 35.31 billion dollars from exports of ready-made garments, including knitwear and woven items.
Bangladesh has set its export target in the 2025-26 fiscal year at 55 billion dollars, including nearly 45 billion dollars from ready-made garment products.
