Kayke Ferrari and Yuri Alberto scored second-half goals as Brazil's Corinthians cruised to a 2-0 away win over Argentine side Platense in their opening Copa Libertadores group match on Thursday.
Ferrari opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when he ran onto Rodrigo Garro's through ball and lifted a shot over goalkeeper Matias Borgogno.
Garro was again the provider 17 minutes later with a perfectly weighted pass that released Alberto, who finished clinically into the far corner.
Despite having the lion's share of possession, Platense rarely threatened Corinthians' goal and managed only one shot on target.
In other Copa Libertadores fixtures on Thursday, Santa Fe and Penarol played out a 1-1 draw, Universidad Central eased to a 3-1 home win over Libertad, and Rosario Central was held to a goalless home draw by Independiente del Valle.
