Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday expressed doubt about media speculations regarding an imminent nuclear deal between Iran and the United States.

He made the remarks in a post on the social media platform X while reacting to a Thursday report by CNN, which, citing anonymous sources, claimed that a "broad agreement" could be clinched between Iran and the United States when they meet next.

"Not sure if we are there yet," Araghchi responded. He added that Iran was "sincere" about a diplomatic solution that would serve all sides' interests, stressing that, however, "getting there requires an agreement that will fully terminate all sanctions and uphold Iran's nuclear rights -- including enrichment.

" Pointing to a Thursday report by Fox News saying that a new intelligence report "claims Iran is continuing with its active nuclear weapons program," Araghchi emphasized, "As for the latest fake news against Iran-U.S. diplomacy: using Iran to attack American critics is low."

Starting from April, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of Oman-mediated indirect talks, three in the Omani capital Muscat and two in Rome, on Tehran's nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. sanctions. In recent days, Washington has repeatedly demanded that Iran completely cease uranium enrichment, a request firmly rejected by Tehran.
