Three people, including the suspected gunman, died in a shooting incident in central Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Monday, local authorities said.

The shooting occurred in the municipality of Kiseljak, about 40 km northwest of BiH's capital, Sarajevo, according to the Interior Ministry of Central Bosnia Canton.

Police said a 54-year-old suspect used a firearm against two close family members. One victim, born in 1947, died at the scene, and the other, born in 1971, sustained serious injuries and died in hospital, authorities said.

According to local media outlet Dnevni Avaz, the suspect, after being located and surrounded by the police, attempted suicide and later died at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo due to his injuries.
