The United Nations said that Israel has been preventing the entry of all types of aid into the Gaza Strip for 50 days, and that the impact on Palestinians is very serious.

This was stated by UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric during a press conference held last night at UN headquarters in New York. Dujarric said, citing the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), that no food, fuel, medicine, or other essential supplies have entered Gaza for 50 days.

"Rations have been cut. Critical medicines, vaccines and medical supplies are all running low", he added.

He pointed out that children and adults are suffering from hunger, and that the health system in the Strip is on the verge of collapse.

Dujarric also said that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, while Israeli attacks on emergency teams and aid workers have surged again.
