Early morning shootings target 2 homes in Western Sydney

Two homes in Sydney's west were targeted in separate shootings early on Sunday morning, and police believe that both incidents are linked.

Police were called to reports of a public place shooting in Punchbowl, a suburb in Sydney's west, at around 2:45 a.m. local time on Sunday.

Officers arrived and found that several shots had been fired into the front of a home by the occupants of an unknown vehicle before it left the scene.

About 15 minutes later, police were called to a home in Greenacre, another suburb in Sydney's west, following reports of a second public place shooting.

Officers arrived and found that several shots had been fired into a second home by the occupants of an unknown vehicle before it also left the scene before police arrival.

No injuries were reported during any of the incidents. Police have established crime scenes at both locations.
