The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday that it killed six Hezbollah militants in two incidents in southern Lebanon.
In the first incident, Israeli soldiers operating in the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya identified five Hezbollah militants in the Israel-held "security zone," who allegedly posed a threat to Israeli troops, the IDF said in a statement.
In the second incident, soldiers operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge identified an armed Hezbollah militant who also posed a threat, it said.
Following the identification, the Israeli air force and the ground forces opened fire, killing the militants, according to the statement.
The developments came despite the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel that took effect last week.
On Monday, Israeli leaders said the IDF would continue to act to neutralize "threats" in southern Lebanon.
