Kyrgyzstan's GDP reached about 1.44 billion U.S. dollars in January, marking a 9 percent increase year on year, the country's National Statistical Committee said Monday.

According to preliminary estimates, the service sector accounted for 52.3 percent of total GDP, while commodity-producing sectors contributed 30.7 percent. Net taxes on products made up the remaining 17 percent.

Industrial output rose by 12.7 percent in January. Construction demonstrated particularly strong growth, expanding by 25.7 percent year on year. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries grew 3.5 percent, while hotel and restaurant services increased by 10.3 percent. Wholesale and retail trade recorded a 21.1 percent rise. Freight transport across all modes increased by 9.4 percent.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign and mutual trade in goods totaled 15.8 billion dollars in 2025, logging a 10.2 percent decrease compared to 2024. Exports declined by 44.5 percent, while imports increased by 3.9 percent.
