Severe rush hour delays on Tube after points failure in east London

The morning commute is off to a tricky start after disruption on the London Underground network.

If you’re travelling on the District and Hammersmith & City lines this morning, brace for being late. A points failure in West Ham is causing severe delays on both lines. The entire District line is affected after the points issue in east London.

Passengers can use their tickets on buses, the Overground Liberty line, C2C, DLR and Southwestern Railway.

Trains are severely delayed on the entire Hammersmith & City line, the latest TfL Tube status update shows. Meanwhile, the Bakerloo line is experiencing minor delays after trains were cancelled.

Overground services between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction could be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised after an earlier fault on a train at Imperial Wharf.

The disruption is expected to last until 8.30am, National Rail said. Travel appears to be smooth on the rest of the TfL network this morning. Yesterday, early morning rain caused flooding in the Liverpool Street Tube station, blocking some trains from stopping at the platform.
