British and Portuguese press reports indicate that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to marry his partner Georgina Rodriguez in the coming days.
According to the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, Ronaldo and Georgina are planning to hold their wedding ceremony in Madeira, the birthplace of the Portuguese national team captain, specifically in Funchal Cathedral.
For its part, The Sun newspaper reported that the wedding will take place next Saturday, before Ronaldo’s journey with his team Al-Nasr in the Saudi League begins, noting that the luxurious Savoy Palace Hotel in Madeira has been booked in preparation for the occasion, with guests being informed that two floors and a number of bars will be out of service on Friday and Saturday.
The reports added that holding the wedding in Madeira represents a departure from the tradition of holding it in the bride's homeland or in Spain, where Georgina Rodriguez grew up and met Ronaldo.
Georgina had officially announced her engagement to Ronaldo last August after a ten-year relationship, and he presented her with a huge diamond ring that is considered one of the most prominent engagement rings that have appeared on similar occasions.
