US Stocks Close Mixed

Major US stock indexes closed mixed Wednesday on Wall Street.

The S&P 500 edged up 0.79 points, or 0.01 percent, to finish at 5,970.89.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 67.46 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 19,466.42.

In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 84.13 points, or 0.20 percent, ending the session at 42,435.51.
