A man was killed in a shooting in central Rotterdam early Friday, and seven people have been arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
The shooting occurred at around 5:30 a.m. local time (0430 GMT). Residents reportedly heard multiple gunshots before emergency services arrived at the scene.
"The man was seriously injured in the incident and died shortly afterwards in hospital. Police have arrested seven suspects," police said in a statement.
The victim's identity has not been released, and police said the suspects' involvement and roles in the shooting remain under investigation.
